The main problem with paying someone to push your website to the top of Google is no one, but the people working for Google truly understand how to reach the top. There are people who think they might have some understanding and it is true they may have reached the top of Google for a term or two, but it only takes one algorithm update to drop a site deep into the index. So when deciding whether or not to pay a company or individual for SEO services you should really have an understanding of what the realistic results of SEO is. SEO is the process of first building your website to fit a set of keywords and second gaining links which have certain keywords between the anchor tags. You don’t need to pay for links as long as you have some time. You can build links at social websites, directories, article directories, blog commenting, press releases, and user end websites such as forums. All of these will allow you to share with the world your creation and where true success lies is when the people you share it with think your site is so great they share it with their friends and so on. So what are you going to pay for? You cannot pay for first page of Google and buying links will get your website banned. Really everything about SEO can be learned in the forums and just plain practice. If you are going to spend money then pay an extremely respected SEO expert to explain SEO to you. Make sure they themselves understand exactly what SEO consist of this will help you.
