What is the most underpaid job in The United States today? That can be answered in one word, Mom. When you ad up what it would take to pay a person to do what a mom does daily, you come up with a substantial amount of money. And while in todays society women are doing almost everything a man is, (including professional football) there is still, and always will be one very important thing a woman can do that a man cannot. And that is to be a Mom.
Unfortunately there is another thing that has changed in America since the time of Mr and Mrs Ricardo. That is the fact that it is much more fiscally difficult to maintain a household on one income. And if the husband is not bringing in huge amounts of income, the budget is likely to be pretty tight.
So how can a mother stay at home with the children, and still make money for the household? If you have a skill, you may be able to make that into a home based business. An example for those who can bake would be to start selling baked goods. Or if you are good with children, you can start a small daycare. But that will likely require a license at some point. For the animal lover, you could start a pet grooming service.
For those who want something a little less messy, you may try the internet world. There are actual positions out there for people to do on the net and at home. A few examples of these are as follows.
Technical support – For those technically talented Moms, this could be a great opportuinity to make some extra income. Here you would be providing help with technical issues, such as software problems etc.
Customer support – Much like Technical support, you would be trying to help customers that are having problems with a product they purchased. The biggest problem here, is that normally customers that are having problems are not happy ones, and guess who they tend to take it out on.
Virtual Assistant – This is much like the old fashioned secretary. Here you would do things like answer emails, transcribe audio to text form, submit articles, moderate forums, and so on.
There are also ways to make cash on the internet that require little to no work at all. Most require a small to very large investment of cash. But not all of them. There is at least one way that I know of that can help you to make a substantial amount of income without investing a dime. It does require a little time to be put into it, but you can do it at your own pace. We all know that “Mom” is a full time job, and you may not be able to do everything at once. And the support system is outstanding.
