Never complicate things! Simplify! I had always thought this meant for me to get rid of the “what-knots” in my house, but a few weeks ago I heard it in regards to network marketing. The speakers at this meeting repeatedly said the same thing—keep it simple! I thought they were nuts. There I sat by what they were saying each product could do, as I tried to take down all the notes. I kept on trying to comprehend how I was going to remember all the statistics, elements, prices, compensation plans, and uses. How could they say “simplify” when they were making my mind so cluttered?
Women can associate to the fact that trying to simplify our lives is not always an uncomplicated job. We use all types of conveniences to make our daily tasks much easier. These at times even complicate things more. All those elaborate buttons on a new washing machine only gives more options for something to tear up. Then there is the fact we might have to actually read the manual to figure out how to use it! This only complicates our life more by taking away treasured time. Why not buy a washer with less adornments, so our lives can be simplified, and be a means of saving money at the same time.?
A way of saving money can be as easy as simplifying one’s life-style. In this day and age, do we really need to “keep up with the Jones”? The past couple of years has seen a horrific number of foreclosures in our country. These people may not have been in this predicament had they simplified their lifestyle before. It may have also rendered less stress and anxiety for them and their families. It has a domino effect—smaller house, less utilities, less time to clean it, less amount of insurance, less furniture to buy, cleaning out one garage instead of three, and all saving cash and time.
There are various things that can be done to simplify one’s life, and save money at the same time. What a perception! You make your life easier, and yet make more money. The whole idea seems to contradict itself. Many of us have accepted the belief that we have to have a complicated life so we can earn money. Wrong! It is just the opposite. You can actually obtain a higher income by simplification. Learn to delegate! Don’t look at the entire task, instead divide it into smaller parts. One is overcome by dread when you look at the entire house to be cleaned; however, if one decides to clean one area, or room, at a time, it’s much more attainable.
Our working surroundings needs to be simplified also. Yesterday I cleaned out the drawers in my desk, and of course, just piled them on top of it. I was so proud that the drawers were clean! I had a lot to do on my computer, but I just couldn’t get one thing done. Then I looked at the muddle on top of my desk. Straightaway I became overwhelmed, and realized the problem. I had to “DE-clutter” so I could function. After organizing the mess, I was able to execute much more than I had done all day.
