Selling Online with Videos

Under make money

In our first article in this series – on how to create a professional video – we focused solely on creation.   The next step is to decide how best to use the video to sell something online.   Actually, this is not as complex as it might seem.  There are many subtopics but we will cover the basics.

We first need to focus on how video pages are inserted and uploaded to your site.   Each of your videos is a separate file and must be loaded individually up to your site.  You may do this manually or with a technology-assisted process – but it must be done.   For instance, Coffee Cup Visual Site Designer, one of the best minimalist web authoring packages, has a built-in function that allows you to connect to your webhosting site and auto-upload the pages that you have just created or altered.   It also has a highly automated function that allows for the easy management and insertion of video files into the pages on your web.  If you are serious about using video to sell regularly online then you definitely need a web authoring package that facilitates easy insertion of video files.

Most people regular online shoppers are used to seeing videos on the sites that they visit.  Your challenge is to interact with them in a manner which supports the maximum sales.  Most video usage on websites falls into two category – dominant and supportive.  Supportive videos are there to punctuate the selling process and provide specific functionality.   They are typically place in the middle of a long selling, target or landing page with both graphics and text surrounding them.  They also serve to present or introduce the site owner.

Dominant video usage on a website is a scenario wherein the video is primary in the selling process and it requires no prior or subsequent description in order for it to accomplish its mission.  All future website selling is rapidly moving in this direction.

It is our strong recommendation that you move – perhaps gradually at first – in the direction of replacing all your traditional selling and landing pages with self-loading, self-starting flash videos.  Flash video files are not possessive of better graphics or clarity – they simply load much faster – something you should care a great deal about.   In this manner, your selling process starts as soon as the web user sees the page load – without any delay or the need to click something.

Be sure that you follow-up any video work on your website with an update to your windows registry.  You can purchase and download a top registry software package that does this.  They also perform the other registry fix functions that accomplish any needed Registry Repair.
