Yet Another Social Media Marketing Faux Pas

Wow, a few of the entrepreneurs on the market just won’t let me get away from this topic of correct social media marketing etiquette. Properly, I am gonna tell ya, I’ll carry on calling these items out the more you retain doing them and even more so once they’re achieved on to ME! To not disgrace anyone (I will by no means mention names) but quite to hopefully get my fellow entrepreneurs to wake UP and do this thing proper!

So as we speak (and when I say, “right this moment”, I imply 4/10/2010) I was expressing in my Facebook standing that I used to be so very amazed and impressed with the outcomes I had obtained from a can of the power drink that my major firm just so occurs to offer. Now granted, I did NOT mention that it was from my company, but who cares…what occurred just mustn’t have occurred, period!

I posted the little standing replace speaking about how I had solely gotten about 2 hours of sleep, drank a can of the vitality drink at about 10 a.m. and seen that at around 3:15 p.m. I used to be neither drained nor sleepy.

I go away and come back to see that a younger lady marketer posted a reply asking me if my power drink was as wholesome as the one her firm (which is able to remain anonymous) is and that it doesn’t get any more healthy than hers, blah blah blah. Now THAT alone would NOT have been a problem. But she then posted a link to her firm website. WTH??

I am a marketer…I am a Network Marketer and it isn’t a secret on my Facebook page. So why would you post a link to YOUR firm on one other fellow marketer’s put up/wall? So I wrote her a NICE reply and basically mentioned that, “Sure, my power drink is wholesome and natural too…but please don’t post hyperlinks on my wall or wall post.” and I went on to say the way it’s not polite, I’d by no means try this to her, that I’m not up for enjoying the “mine is best than yours” game.

Apparently she bought pissed off as a result of she replied saying how she was simply asking a question and welcoming me to check out her product (ummm…is not that pitching??) and that she had no downside deleting her posts…which she promptly did. I ALSO seen that I was one pal brief LOL. She removed herself from my mates list…that’s completely fine.

However the backside line here of us is this…

When you are on social media platforms resembling Fb, etc. do NOT post direct hyperlinks to your company on other folks’s posts or wall UNLESS REQUESTED that you do so…for example: if somebody were to say, “Hey, can anybody on the market recommend a extremely good, all natural energy drink that doesn’t trigger a significant crash & burn?” Then sure, by all means share with that individual what it’s important to provide!

But in any other case, hold it to your self or put up about it in your OWN status/wall.

That’s the issue with marketers on social media sites…they are not doing the issues they should be doing reminiscent of making connections, offering worth and solutions and being professional. Instead they’re doing every part they should NOT be doing and making a nasty title for these of us who’re making an attempt to salvage the bad rap our business has had slapped upon it.
